JetBlue Expands in North America, Cuts Back Transatlantic Service
JetBlue announced today expanded service in North American and the Caribbean. The airline is adding three new Mint routes as well as three new Caribbean destinations. The New York based carrier is also increasing service in Puerto Rico. On the other hand, it is cutting back on flights to Europe.
More Mint Service
JetBlue’s Mint experience is expanding to additional destinations, including Phoenix and Vancouver.
JetBlue is also introducing Mint for the first time in Puerto Rico. Starting in July, JetBlue will begin offering Mint on a daily flight between San Juan and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
Additionally, JetBlue is doubling Mint service from New York and Boston to Phoenix and reintroducing service from Fort Lauderdale to Phoenix. Additionally, JetBlue will introduce Mint to the Canadian market on JetBlue’s daily flight between New York and Vancouver, British Columbia. JetBlue will also add Mint service between Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas.
New Caribbean Destinations
This fall, JetBlue will launch flights from New York’s JFK to St. Vincent and the Grenadines with service to Argyle International Airport (SVD), and in Bonaire with flights to Flamingo International Airport (BON). These routes, which will go on sale later this month.
In addition to these new offerings, JetBlue is also resuming daily service to Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) in St. Croix with flights from San Juan.
More Flights from Puerto Rico
JetBlue will add six new destinations from San Juan and also introducing its popular Mint experience for the first time in Puerto Rico. Starting in July, JetBlue will begin offering Mint on a daily flight between San Juan and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) complete with lie-flat seats and an elevated dining experience.
Cutting Bank in Europe
While the airline is expanding on this side of the Atlantic, it is cutting back service to Europe. While no routes will be dropped, service will become seasonal from Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK) to London Gatwick (LGW), with no flights during the winter months. Additionally, service from New York (JFK) to Paris (CDG) will be cut to once per day during the winter, down from twice daily.
