New Marriot Amex Offer, Save $50 When You Spend $200+
Check your American Express credit cards for a new offer that can save you $50 at Marriott properties. This is a targeted offer but seems like most people are seeing it in one of their cards. Let’s check the details.
The Offer
Get a one time $50 statement credit by using your enrolled card to spend a minimum of $200 on room rate and room charges for your stay at participating properties across the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio’s 30 hotel brands from 7/31/2020 to 9/21/2020. Book at Marriott.com.
Key Terms
- Valid at properties in the US and US territories, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean
- Excludes Marriott Vacation Club, Design Hotels, Protea Hotels (not that any of those are within the geographic limitations anyway), Marriott Executive Apartments, Homes & Villas by Marriott, and Vistana Signature Experiences.
- Limit 1 statement credit per card member
Conclusion
A good offer for Marriott stays, if you are traveling in the next few months. You can also use it to purchase gift cards at the front desk if you have a location nearby. That has worked in te past to trigger these types of offers, even though gift cards are excluded in terms.

How sure are you on the credit when purchasing a gift card at the front desk? I know it says room stay so I wasn’t sure myself on what to do since I don’t have a stay coming up.
Didn’t show up on 5 cards combined between wifey and I. 🙁
Add some of the of offers on your cards. They will get replaced by new ones and this one may appear.
Typically these offers are based on cumulative purchases, however this one says on a stay. I wonder if I send $100 on each of 2 stays if it will trigger the credit?

Typically additional cardholders can add the same offer to their card. I just added to my wife’s card who is an additional cardholder. It said, sorry this offer has already been added to another card. However, it does appear as an added offer on her card. I wonder if it will work on her card as well?
Thanks, nice find. Mild hassle that it showed up on Delta cards, and Everyday card, not Bonvoy card, so when reserving / checking out, have to make sure that my normal Bonvoy card is not the one charged. Chase has many duplicate offers across cards. Still, a 25% rebate not bad at all and beats the current 15% gift card deal, might be worth the risk to try to stack, if they don’t still getting 15%.
