New 80K Bonus for Chase United Explorer Card
Chase and United Airlines will launch an increased bonus for the United Explorer credit card. Starting March 23rd, you can earn 80,000 miles when you spend $3,000 within three months, and the annual fee will be waived for the first year. However, the annual fee will increase to $150, and hopefully the card will also be refreshed. Let’s look at the details.
The Offer
- Earn 80,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.
- $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $150
- NO DIRECT LINK
The offer was first revealed by Doctor of Credit who shared an internal memo. With the fee going up from $95 to $150 we should also see some new perks or credits, just like the United Business Card.

Conclusion
This is the highest welcome offer from this card, so this is a good opportunity for those that are invested in the MileagePlus program. You can get 80,000 miles after spending $3,000 in three months, and the annual fee is waived for the first year.
It’s not clear yet if the offer will be available in-branch only, or online as well.
Keep in mind that the Chase 5/24 rule does apply here, so not many people will be eligible to apply. But if you are under 5 cards in the last 24 months, then it could be a good opportunity to earn United MileagePlus miles plus gain access to some perks while flying United.
