New Amex Offers for Hilton and Delta Cards
American Express today announced new limited-time offers for select Hilton Honors and Delta SkyMiles Cards. This follows a trend that we have seen since May, where American Express cardholders get more spending offers and credits while working from home, and and delaying travel due to the pandemic.
These new offers that were announced today are targeted, and also vary from one account to the other. If you are lucky, you can earn a free night reward, extra MQMs and additional points for purchases. Let’s take a look at the offers.
Hilton Cards
American Express Hilton Honors cardholders have a new spending offer that comes in two versions. You can get extra base points for your spending, or even a Free Night Reward in addition to the points.
- Enroll in this offer and each time you spend $1K in purchases on your Hilton Honors American Express Card, we’ll match the 1K Hilton Honors Base Points, up to 30K Points. This is in addition to the points you already earn on your Card. Plus, earn a Free Night Reward after you spend $5K in purchases on your Card.
How to Enroll
Amex Hilton, Hilton Surpass, Hilton Aspire and Hilton Business Members can visit Amex Offers on AmericanExpress.com or in their Mobile App and look for this offer. Add it to the eligible card before making any purchases.
Analysis
Most people are seeing only the first part of the offer, but if you get the Free Night Reward, then it gets much better. Getting a free night for spending $5,000 is as good as it gets when it comes to free night rewards. And you have until December 18th to do so.
Even if you only have the points part of the offer, it can still be useful for some people. If you are still working on your Amex Hilton Surpass $15K free night offer, or Hilton Lifetime status, then earning an extra base points for all purchases is a welcome addition.
Delta Cards
Select Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards are getting new limited-time offers to reward Card Members who are dining out – whether in-person, takeout or delivery – or planning a trip down the road. The new offers, now available across the Delta SkyMiles Gold, Platinum and Reserve Consumer and Business American Express Cards, will allow eligible Card Members to earn even more miles for their purchases. These offers expand upon the elevated at-home grocery benefits added to the Cards in May.
Delta Gold Cards
Earn 4X Miles at Restaurants – including takeout and delivery – and 5X Miles on Delta Purchases
- Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express
- Delta SkyMiles® Gold Business American Express

- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express
Purchases made from Additional Cards do not qualify for the bonus miles and MQMs offer.
How to Enroll
- Delta Gold Card Members can visit Americanexpress.com/deltagoldoffers.
- Delta Platinum & Reserve Card Members can visit Amex Offers on AmericanExpress.com or in their Mobile App.
Analysis
The offers for American Express Delta card are probably more interesting, unless you have that free night reward offer for your Hilton Cards. Delta MQMs roll over to 2021, which makes this offer even better. More information on Delta Air Lines Medallion Status requirements can be found here.
Conclusion
American Express continues to impress with these added offers for cardholders who can’t currently take full advantage of their card perks, especially for premium credit cards. Being able to earn a free night with just $5K spend is amazing, and also extra MQMs will come in handy for Delta fans.

Two Surpass and one Aspire card. Got the free night offer on the Aspire. $5k spend for free night.
The Delta offer must be targeted. My wife’s gold card registered fine for the bonus but my Platinum card only had the bonus for Delta purchases as an option under Amex Offers and not the bonus for restaurants- oh well
As my luck has gone this year, my Hilton offer did not come with the free night option – only the 1k bonus every 1k spend
Same.
But the Delta award adds onto both regular and business Delta Platinum cards, but unfortunately would never reach the spending caps to double down.
