Two New Hyatt Centric Hotels In Italy Now Bookable
Hyatt has been furiously trying to expand its footprint over the last year or two. They have done it by acquisition and by partnering up with other brands. They recently were able to get two hotels in Italy to convert to the Hyatt Centric brand. I have a feeling these will be popular choices among the miles and points group since they are located in Venice and Milan and they are category 4 and 3 hotels.
Venice
The Venice hotel is the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice. This hotel is a category 3 hotel and costs a mere 12,000 Hyatt points per night. The cash price looks to be in the €150-€250 per night range when taxes are included. That makes points a pretty good value here.
The hotel offers 119 guest rooms and is a 10 minute boat right from central Venice and a 20 minute boat ride from the airport. The hotel offers wellness facilities that include a sauna, Turkish bath and fitness center.
Milan
Move over Park Hyatt you have some competition in Milan and it comes at half the award cost. The Hyatt Centric Milan Centrale is a category 4 property costing 15,000 points per night. I did some quick searches but only cash & points stays seem to be coming up right now. I am not sure if this is a new launch glitch or if finding award stays will be difficult here. The cash rates were in the €200-€250 range for the dates I checked.
The hotel sits in the heart of the vibrant Porta Nuova district. It is located within walking distance from the metro and Central Station. The part that I am most excited about is that the hotel has a rooftop bar with 360 degree views of Milan. The hotel boasts 141 guest rooms.
Conclusion
The Hyatt Centric brand is one of the ones I still need to check off my brand explorer list. I wouldn’t mind doing that in Italy. This is great news for the brand and for loyal Hyatt members. And the fact that they are both category 1-4 cert eligible is just icing on the cake. You hear that Pam 🙂 time to go to Italy!

The “Porta Nuova district” is far away, instead it is a couple of blocks from Central station in Milan, one of the most useful place for transportation but also a shitty place to walk safely.
Thanks for the info Joe – much appreciated
Encouraging for sure. See that the Hyatt Centric Murano Venice says it provides complimentary transfers. Wonder how that will work. When we were in Rome we decided against staying at the Hilton Cavelieri because it was not in the centro storico or close to it, and I had read a lot about how the complimentary shuttle was often full, had a limited schedule, didn’t run late enough, etc. So it will be interesting to see how this works because Murano is lovely, but not central Venice. Although lots of people stay at the Hilton Molino Stuckey out on the Lido, and that’s not central either. But this is something to consider if we ever return there. Truthfully, I’m hesitant because we had 3 picture perfect days there in May ’93 before the cruise ships started coming, and the super-sized crowds invaded.
Nice to see they are in Milan. Hope Hyatt finds a way to expand in Italy – definitely my favorite country.
It is funny that people seem to either love or hate Venice and I think a lot of it depends on what kind of crowds they are dealing with when they are there.
