New Instacart Credit for Chase Sapphire and Freedom Cardholders

Chase made a surprise announcement today, improving the Instacart+ benefit that was announced earlier this year.

Select Chase cardholders already get up to 12 months of Instacart+ for free, but starting Monday, August 1, Chase Sapphire and Chase Freedom cardmembers will be eligible to also receive statement credits on Instacart purchases once they activate their Instacart+ membership.

Offer Details

Here’s are the details of this offer for each card:

Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • 1-year Instacart+ free
  • Once activated, receive up to $15/month in statement credits on Instacart.com purchases
Chase Sapphire Preferred
  • 6 months Instacart+ free
  • Once activated, receive up to $15/quarter in statement credits on Instacart.com purchases
Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Flex, Chase Freedom Unlimited & Chase Freedom Student
  • 3 months Instacart+ free
  • Once activated, receive up to $10/quarter in statement credits on Instacart.com purchases
Chase Slate
  • 3 months Instacart+ free

You can enroll now to start earning your monthly, or quarterly credits. Enrollment for the offer expires on July 31, 2024.

Conclusion

This new Intacart+ benefit adds more value for Chase Sapphire and Freedom cardholders. With a Chase Sapphire Reserve card you now get free Insacart+ for a full year, and up to $180 in statement credits.

It looks like the credits might only work for cardholders that enroll starting today. I’m not sure if that’s a glitch, or if that’s how Chase intended this new benefit. Chase has confirmed that these new credits are only for those who activate the Instacart+ membership starting today.

  1. Is it mentioned that this will be an annual benefit, or one-off enrollment benefit good for one term only?

  2. I tried to add it, but it said I could not as I already have an active instacart+ subscription from Chase. I have not tried cancellling that and then activating.
