Need to Know

Here are some facts about the cards you should know:

  • Southwest points are often worth 1.4 cents each towards airfare.
  • Points earned from these offers DO COUNT towards the Southwest Companion Pass.
  • These cards are known to be subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule.

Eligibility

These products are not available to either:

  • (i) current Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapids Rewards® Credit Card, or
  • (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. This does not apply to Cardmembers of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Business Card and Employee Credit Card products.

Conclusion

These are good offers on all three cards especially for those who value cash over points. However, the timing of these offers can also be useful to earn the Southwest Companion Pass.

To do that, you would also need to apply for one of the business cards. The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card. That card currently has a 85,000 points bonus.

If bonuses from both cards post in early 2025, you will get the Companion Pass for almost two full years. As a cardholder you also get 10,000 qualifying points towards the new increased requirement of 135,000 points.
