Target Black Friday Offer, Get 20% Off Coupon with One $50 Purchase
Target released its Black Friday ad today along with some early access Black Friday deals that will be available online, today only. The ad has an interesting offer that can save you 20% on Target purchases, post Thanksgiving.
UPDATE – I purchased a $50 Target gift card online and my confirmation email stated that I should get the 20% off coupon within the next 24 hours via email! Everyone should take advantage of this offer if you shop at target.
The Offer
Spend $50 or more storewide on Friday 11/24 at Target in-store or online and get 20% off one shopping trip between Nov 28 – Dec 10.
Key Terms
- The $50 purchase must be made in one single transaction (Reports of gift cards working)
- Qualifying guests will receive a coupon via email on 11/25/2017
- CVS Pharmacy, clinic and Target Optical are excluded
- Limit one 20% off coupon per guest
- Some exclusions apply, which will be detailed on coupon
Conclusion
This is a great offer, depending on the exclusions that will be spelled out in the coupon that you will receive by email. I expect expensive electronics to be excluded, but I think is worth making a purchase at Target on the 24th to get this coupon. There’s no cap mentioned for the 20% discount in the ad.

Purchased in-store SpaFinder gift cards since I use them regularly, got 20% coupon.
I think its wrong that they won’t tell you what the exclusions are until you actually get the coupon. Although its better than a two years ago when they never even said up front that there would be exclusions. I got the coupon only to find out that it excluded gift cards. There is no reason that they can’t tell you the exclusions up front.
I would agree but Target has not always been the most customer friendly company so it isn’t all that surprising.
I agree with the principle of knowing upfront, but for anyone else who needs the terms:
Category Coupon. Valid one-time use only. Limit one identical coupon per guest. Percent off coupon will apply to all qualifying items in transaction. Cannot be combined with any other Category Coupon. This coupon for use by original recipient only. Void if copied, scanned, altered, transferred, purchased, sold or prohibited by law. Promo code may not be applied to previous orders. Gift cards and tax not included in determining purchase total. No cash value.
*Excludes alcohol, Apple products, Bose, CVS clinic & pharmacy, dairy milk, DSLR cameras & lenses, Duluth Pack, Elf on the Shelf, select games (Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard, Exploding Kittens, What Do You Meme, Bears vs. Babies), gift cards, Google products, GoPro, LEGO, LG OLED TV, Mobile contracts, Nintendo hardware & Switch software, Playstation 4, prepaid cards, Pulsar watches, Sonos, Target Optical, Traeger, Tylenol pain relief, Weber, WellieWishers, Xbox One, Xbox One X.
Do you think the 20% discount will apply to groceries?
Should
I had 2 orders cancelled but also got the code. Have no idea why the orders were cancelled.
They may have run out of stock. Did you order it today or yesterday? I got the ones I ordered yesterday last night.
The best part they sent it to me even for cancelled iTunes orders 🙂
Wow – even better lol
