New Plastiq Promotion Can Save You Some $$$ If You Have a Mastercard
Plastiq is back once again with a new promotion for Mastercard cardholders. This one is targeted, so you need to have received an email in order to qualify. Let’s check the details and whether it’s worth it.
The Offer
From now until October 31, 2018, earn a fee-free dollar for every dollar you spend through Plastiq on a Mastercard.
Payments must meet the following criteria to count towards promotion:
- Must be on a Mastercard credit card (excludes pre-paid and debit cards)
- Must be created on or after Thursday, October 11, 2018
- Must be set to process on or before Wednesday, October 31, 2018 (see below to learn where to find the processing date)
- Must pay a fee of at least 2.5% of amount on that payment (ex., no FFDs can be applied)
Key Terms
- Payments must be submitted with a Mastercard on or after October 11, 2018 12:00 a.m. ET and have a processing date between October 11, 2018 12:00 a.m. and October 31, 2018 11:59 p.m. ET.
- All payments must have an effective Plastiq fee of 2.5% and not be refunded to be eligible for this offer.
- Please note that fee-free dollars will be credited to your account on November 1, 2018.

Conclusion
Plastiq is charges a 2.5% fee for bill payments made with a Mastercard credit card. During this targeted promotion you will have to pay that fee, but you can earn that same payment amount in fee-free dollars. That means that you can repeat that same payment next month, using any credit card and you will pay no fee. So the processing fee should average out to 1.25%. If you’re using a card that earns more than that, and you’re targeted, it’s definitely worth it.
