Shop at Rakuten, Earn up to 50% Back in Points

Rakuten has a new promotion for the next few days, and it can earn you lots of extra points. This Unlock More promotion begins today on 12/27/19 and ends on 12/30/19. The amount of points you earn during this promotion is based on your cumulative spending within the promotion dates. The promotion even works for gift card card purchases.

The Offer

  • Earn 15% back in Rakuten Super Points on all purchases
  • When you shop select Bonus Merchants, you will earn up to an additional 25% back in Rakuten Super Points
  • When your cumulative spending is greater than $750, you will earn an additional 10% back in Rakuten Super Points (limited to a maximum amount back of 15,000 Rakuten Super Points per customer, per household during this promotion); note that these points will be deposited in your account on 1/15/20 and expire 45 days thereafter on 2/29/20 at 11:59PM PT.

So for some merchants you can get as much as 50% back in points, but almost all purchases will earn up to 30% if you spend at least $750 during the promotional period.

Conclusion

One of the best promotions from Rakuten, formerly Buy.com. Just make sure you compare prices with other sites before buying. Not many merchants will earn 50% back in points. But Xbox gift cards can earn up to 27% back in points if you spend a total of $750, Dell will earn up to 30%, Lenovo up to 31%, eBags up to 35% etc. Points can be used for all purchases on Rakuten. Just keep in mind that the bonus points expire in 45 days.

  1. Are these points the same as the one you earn through the shopping portal and can be converted to amex MR points?
