Sam’s Club Amex Offer

Sam’s Club Amex Offer

Some American Express cards have a new Amex Offer that could save you up to 50% on online purchases st Sam’s Club. Let’s check the details.

The Offer

Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $30+ in one of more transactions at samsclub.com by 6/14/2018.

Key Terms

  • Offer available only online and through app (excluding the Scan and Go app)
  • Not valid on purchases made in-club, phone orders or new memberships
  • Excludes prescription and photo purchases made through mobile app, Sam’s Club fuel and third party services
  • Must add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem.
  • Offer is non-transferable.

How to Load

This offer is targeted to personal cards only. Specifically I found it on my Delta Gold, Blue Cash Everyday and Platinum cards. If you are targeted, the offer can be loaded on the American Express website under the Amex Offers section.

Analysis

First off, gift cards don’t seem to be excluded. However, the offer is available online only, so that limits the selection of gift cards. They occasionally have gift card sales which would become even better deals with this offer. Online you can purchase Visa and Mastercard gift cards and also third party gift cards. Sam’s Club gift cards are also an option, but read more on their activation issues before buying. You should try to spend close to $30 or $60 (splitting payment on two cards) to maximize the Amex Offer.

Conclusion

This offer is not as good as previous offers, but it could still get you some great savings, especially if you have it in a lot of cards. It can only be used online, in-store purchases do not qualify.

  1. They don’t charge the 10% non-member fee for GC to residents of California and a handful of other states that I can’t remember off hand.

  2. I don’t understand how this can be added on more than one card. The offer was available on 3 of my cards, but when I added it to the first card, the offer disappeared on the other 2 cards.

    • Open a new tab for each card and have the offer ready on each tab and click away. You could still get it to show up again if you remove the impacted card(s) from your amex account and create a new one for each.

  3. As with many targeted offers, I only got it on personal cards and AU’s. And, even then, not all of them. Personal platinum, delta (gold), hilton (ascend), and everyday blue.
