SeatSpy, A New Tool to Help You Find Non-Stop Awards

Mark wrote recently about the one thing he hates the most when planning a trip, searching for award space. That’s the same way I feel when I sit down and try to book anything. I give up in 10 minutes, keep pushing it off and then end up booking last minute with Ultimate Rewards. So any tools that makes the process of booking awards easier, are always welcomed.

Enter SeatSpy. This is a website that helps solve the problem of finding airline awards, to some extent. The goal is to allow people that have collected miles and points to easily see which seats are available for them.

To use the site, you select the airline and the route that you want to search for reward seat availability. SeatSpy then shows you all of the reward seat availability, for every cabin class, for almost a whole year. No more re-entering search details, creating a new search with a different cabin class or with new dates when you might be able to travel. SeatSpy will show results for direct flights only for the airline searched for.

As of now, SeatSpy only lets you search awards for the following airlines:

  • Air France
  • American Airlines
  • British Airways
  • KLM
  • United Airlines
  • Virgin Atlantic.

After your search, you don’t even have to go back to check if any new reward seats have become available. You can choose to receive a message when new reward seats are detected. Once you know that the reward seats you are interested in are available, you can get in touch with the airline by phone or on their website to book or upgrade to the reward seats.

Pricing & Subscriptions

SeatSpy offers three levels of subscription, with varying features available in each. The Economy package is free, so it’s probably the best place to start if you just want to check out the website. Then take a look at what the Premium and First Class package offer and decide if it is worth paying for a monthly or annual subscription.

Also it looks like it’s easy to cancel, if you decide to do so. Just go to My Account, and choosing the Subscriptions option. You will see the details of your current subscription and be able to choose the option to cancel.

You can see the latest pricing details on our Pricing page at https://www.seatspy.com/pricing.

Conclusion

To get real value from SeatSpy, you probably will need to subscribe either for the Premium or First Class package. Prices start at $2.49 and $4.16 per month, if you pay for a full year. Otherwise you can pay monthly, $3.99 and $9.99 respectively.

SeatSpy is web-based tool and it will help you find non-stop award flights on select carriers for now. It started with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights only, but has since added support for Air France, American Airlines, KLM, and United Airlines as well.
