The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Transition to MGM
MGM completed the acquisition of The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas back in 2022. However, the property remained part of Marriott Bonvoy after the acquisition, even though MGM was in a partnership with Hyatt.
But now that partnership is over, and MGM switched over to Marriott Bonvoy. And we already knew that the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will transition from its Identity loyalty program to MGM Rewards loyalty program.
The transition was supposed to complete a couple of months ago, but that never happened. And now MGM has revealed another date, July 30, 2024.
Members can continue to play, earn, and redeem with Identity Rewards through July 29, 2024.
MGM Rewards said in the announcement that members can continue to play and earn with Identity and their earnings will be recognized when determining their new MGM Rewards Tier Status. On July 30, 2024, members will receive a one-time adjustment of Tier Credits in the MGM Rewards program based on Tier Points earned July 30, 2023 – July 29, 2024 in the Identity Rewards program. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
In addition to being part of the MGM Collection, The Cosmopolitan will continue its relationship with Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection Hotels brand.

A couple years ago, Shawn did a Las Vegas State of Housekeeping review. Covering even the top properties, the state of things was pretty bad. I have stayed at the Cosmo several times. Recently stayed again and the bathroom was disgusting. (Presents from a prior guest.) Never again.
