Travel Tabloids is a collection of the craziest travel related stories from around the web for the previous week or so.  Instead of gumming up your feed reporting on these as they happen we will post them all together, once per week.

Pilot arrested for having loaded gun in carry-on at Florida airport – CBC

Bringing a loaded gun in a carry on…I don’t think he will have a job much longer.  TSA rules say a gun must be unloaded, in a lock box, and checked for it to be able to fly.  You would think a pilot of all people would know the rules.

This is beyond crazy.  Take the training potty into the bathroom if that is what your child feels comfortable going on.  So many other/better options available.

I imagine this woman will be hit with some serious fines/fees for the flight diversion and having all the passengers be delayed by a day.

At least there was an open seat to move him to.  I don’t think 40,000 miles was enough compensation but I also don’t think they should have to cover his whole trip for some wet pants.  It ruined his flight but it should have had no effect on the rest of his vacation.  Still disgusting though.

  1. Actually, certain pilots ARE allowed to carry firearms on domestic flights in the US if they get the proper certifications. Google “Federal Flight Deck Officer” for more details.
