  1. Actually, there are other reasons for greating passengers during boarding especially on intercontinental flights:
    1 – It is a final check to make sure that you are on the correct aircraft. I’m going to Oakland, CA and not to Auckland, NZ. Yes, this does happen.
    2 – Business class passengers will be directed to their seats. First class passengers will be taken to their seats and shown the features of their seat/suite.
