100,000 Bonus for Three Avios Credit Cards

100,000 Bonus for Three Avios Credit Cards

There are several airlines that use the Avios program and Chase offers Avios credit cards for three of them. That includes British Airways, Iberia and, Aer Lingus. Now all three cards have increased welcome offers which are available on each airline’s website. You can earn up to 100,000 Avios, but most people will probably prefer these 85,000 offers instead. Let’s see the details of this new bonus.

The Offers

Here are the details of the bonus and annual fee for all three cards:

  • Earn up to 100,000 Bonus Avios:
    • Earn 75,000 Bonus Avios after you spend $5,000 within the first three months of account opening.
    • Plus an additional 25,000 Avios after you spend $20,000 total within the first 12 months of account opening.
  • $95 annual fee

And here are the direct links to apply for these bonuses:

Regardless of which card you apply for, you can transfer Avios between all three programs. The only catch is that your accounts must have been open for at least 90 days. Avios can also be used on Qatar Airways, Finnair and Vueling.

Card Highlights

The earning rates are the same on all three cards:

  • 3x Avios for every $1 spent on purchases with British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia
  • 2x Avios for every $1 spent on hotel accommodations when booked directly with the hotel
  • 1x Avios for every $1 spent on all other purchases.

The differences between the cards are in some of the perks they offer:

  • British Airways Card
    • 10% off flights starting in the US
    • Up to $600 Reward Flight Statement Credits
    • Earn a Travel Together Ticket every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases on your British Airways credit card. Valid for two years
  • Iberia Card
    • 10% off Iberia flights
    • Every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases, you receive a $1,000 Iberia flight discount voucher to use toward two tickets on the same flight
  • Aer Lingus Card
    • Priority boarding on Aer Lingus flights to and from the United States.
    • Earn a Travel Together Ticket every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases on your Aer Lingus credit card. Valid for two years

Conclusion

With this new bonus that is available on all three cards, you can earn up to 100,000 Avios. However, you need to spend $20,000 within the first 12months in order to get the full bonus.

These 85,000 offers are superior for the first $5,000 in spend. So if you are thinking of applying for any of these cards, that’s probably your best option.

With that said, it’s still worth looking at other options from Chase, or even other credit card issuers, as you can get better welcome bonuses.

  1. I have collected BA Avios in the past and they were easy to get. Used them mostly for AA short haul flights between FL and MD and that was a good use of miles. I still have some in my account and family account. They have been good in a pinch for me. Their high fuel charges are a put off for me to use from the U.S. for flights. I guess if you fly to Europe a lot, these can come in handy for you.

    • opps, I forgot to add…………the minimum spend to get this amount of miles currently is soooooo high. It would not be for me at that type of minimum spend.
