Amazon Prime Kindle Promotional Credit
Yesterday we covered some of the amazing deals Amazon is having on their Fire Tablet and Kindle devices. The deal gets even better if you are a targeted Amex or Citi cardholders. With those promos you can get a Kindle or Fire Tablet for as low as $9.99. Pretty crazy!

It Gets Better
Yesterday I bought quite a few of those suckers not knowing there would be an added bonus. Apparently Amazon is also giving a $5 promotional credit to be used towards a Kindle book. I just received the following email:
Dear Shawn Coomer,
Thank you for purchasing an Amazon device on Prime Day! To help you get started we’ve added a $5 Kindle book credit to your Amazon account to enjoy reading on any Kindle e-reader, Fire tablet, or Echo device — or on your phone or tablet with the free Kindle app.
Redeem by July 31, 2018 and your credit will be automatically applied after checkout.
Need to Know
Here are the key terms of the promotional credit:
- This offer is available to Prime members only.
- This is a limited time offer.
- Offer only applies to digital content sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC” on the content detail page) and all eBooks made available through Amazon.com.
Questions?
Since I hadn’t seen this deal published elsewhere (perhaps I just missed it), there are a few questions I have.
Do you get one credit for each device purchased? Probably not. My guess is it is once per account. Maybe someone can share their experience if they have received it.
Does every Prime member who purchased an Amazon device on Prime Day get this offer? I don’t know this one either. It seems that way based on the terms.
Which devices count? I’m not sure if the Fire tablets or Kindle readers triggered this offer since both were purchased. As you can see the email simply says, “Amazon Device”.
Conclusion
I know many of you purchased Amazon devices yesterday so this might just be a nice little kicker. Amazon has been in a generous mood lately between their amazing 20% off discounts and of course the Prime Day deals.
