Alaska Airlines Offering up to 50% Off Fiji Airways Awards
Alaska Airlines has a great promotion for travel to Fiji and beyond. They are offering up to 50% off awards or double miles on paid flights with Fiji Airways. With their free stopover, you can also get to Australia or New Zealand for the same price. Alaska Airlines is also offering the option of double miles for paid fares. Let’s check the details.
Up to 50% on Awards
With this promotion you can use as little as 20,000 miles for travel to Fiji in Economy. That’s half the amount of miles that is normally required. Business class also has a discount, but not 50%. From North America you will need 40K miles instead of the usual 55K.
Here’s how it works:
- Search for flights using our book a flight page.
- Check the “Use miles” box.
- Enter your departure city and your South Pacific, Australia, or New Zealand destination in the “From” and “To” spaces.
- Choose your travel dates.
- Click “Find flights” to search for available qualifying Fiji Airways flights.
What makes this deal even better is the fact that Alaska Airlines allows one free stopover on award tickets. That means that you can fly from the U.S. to Fiji, and after a few days continue to Australia or New Zealand for example for the same price of 20,000 miles in Economy or 40,000 in Business. However, Business class availability is very scarce or non existent.
Double Miles on Paid Fares
For paid flights on Fiji Airways you can earn double Mileage Plan miles. This is how it works:
- Register and book by February 29, 2020
- Fly between February 1 and June 30, 2020
- You’ll receive double Mileage Plan miles within four to six weeks
Conclusion
A good promotion from Alaska Airlines. The 50% discount only applies to Economy fares though. But even at 40K miles for Business it is still a great deal if you’re able to find any availability.
