Alaska Airlines Eyeing European Flights in 2026
Alaska Airlines is looking to launch flights to Europe. The airline’s Chief Executive Officer Ben Minicucci said that the carrier is eyeing service to Europe in 2026, following its recent venture into the long-haul market thanks to its merger with Hawaiian Airlines.
Just recently Alaska revealed new service between Seattle and two destinations in Asia, Seoul and Tokyo Narita, using Hawaiian’s Airbus A330 fleet.
During a Wings Club event in New York last week, Minicucci announced, “Europe is definitely on the radar for 2026.”
Minicucci did not mention any specific destinations in Europe during its latest comments. But based on its December investor day presentation, London, Paris and Rome are the top three markets.
Minicucci said that Alaska “can go toe-to-toe” with Delta Air Lines, which also used Seattle as one of its hubs.

More flights are better I guess but having searched for a couple of saver business class seats with Alaska to Asia month after month and coming up with Delta-type pricing I’m not sure that adding more routes will be much good. Value with Alaska is fading fast.
British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Delta have a combined total of 3 daily flights to London. Is there room for a 4th flight operated by Hawaiian?
What is the largest or most profitable medium sized market not served? Could it be Milan or Rome? Westjet manages a summer Calgary-Rome flight.
