Alaska Airlines’ Partnership with Lyft Gets More Rewarding

Alaska Airlines’ partnership with Lyft, which launched in 2022, is getting more rewarding. As of July 17, you can now earn more miles for your Lyft rides.

Here’s how it works:

  • 2x miles per $1 on all everyday Lyft rides including Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides

  • 3x miles per $1 when taking airport rides or choosing elevated modes like Extra Comfort, Black, or Black SUV

As long as your accounts are actively linked and Alaska Mileage Plan is selected as your preferred travel partner in your Lyft profile, your rides will earn miles.

If you have not linked your accounts already, or are not sure, just visit the Connected Apps page on Lyft.com. You should see a “Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan & Lyft Partnership” in the Connected Apps section.

  • Open the Lyft app and tap “Rewards” in the menu
  • Scroll to the “Travel Rewards” section and tap “Select a partner”
  • Tap on Alaska Mileage Plan

Conclusion

If you value Alaska miles, then this is an easy way to earn them. But it’s worth noting that you could already get 2X points on Lyft rides when you link your account Bilt Rewards. Bilt lets you transfer to Alaska at 1:1 ratio.

Whichever program you choose, it’s worth noting that you can also earn 5X points when using select Chase credit cards to pay for your Lyft rides through September of 2027.
