Alaska’s Companion Fare Can Now Be Used On Virgin America

Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card offers a nice sign up bonus, plus an annual companion fare after you make $1,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days of your account opening. That Companion Fare will cost just $99 plus taxes.

The good news is that starting today, you’ll be able to use that Annual Companion Fare on Virgin America flights as well.

Annual Companion Fare Benefit

Visa Signature cardholders who make any combination of Purchases totaling at least $1,000 that post to the account within 90 days of the account open date will qualify for a round-trip coach Companion Fare on Alaska Airlines or Virgin America from $121 (USD) ($99 base fare plus taxes and fees, from $22 depending on your Alaska Airlines or Virgin America flight itinerary) when traveling with another passenger on a paid published coach airfare on the same itinerary, booked at the same time on alaskaair.com.

The Companion Fare code must be redeemed at alaskaair.com within 12 months of the date of issue. The Companion Fare code is not valid with award travel, and cannot be combined with any other airfare discounts.

This is a benefit on both the personal and business versions of the card.

Conclusion

This should be good news for many, as it open up more possibilities and adds the opportunity to earn miles on both carriers.

    • well if thats all you care about then yea. Y seats can suck. but the benefits outweigh the Y anytime man. totally worth it IMHO. you dont gotta be international F suite every time.

      • Being tall and wide shouldered, for any long haul I prefer room. I have 3 + hour limit in coach. I am sure it’s great for a lot of people though, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many coach seats on a plane.
