Allegiant Stadium Construction Tour
When I moved to Las Vegas back in 1993 many dreamed big of a day when the city would be home to major league sports teams. We even saw our fair share of stadium proposals that fizzled out as it became abundantly clear major league sports wanted nothing to do with Vegas because of gambling. Admittedly times have changed.
A few years ago the NHL gambled by awarding an expansion team to Vegas. The Vegas Golden Knights have proven to be more than a success. Our city has adopted them and even the most casual hockey fan loves the Knights in Vegas. That success story lead to another shocker. We are getting a football team.
It’s no secret that the Raiders are moving to Vegas this year. To get to this point we went through tons of debate, the passage of a controversial new tax and about $1.8 billion worth of funds. Was it worth it? Time will tell, but the result is the most expensive and one of the most attractive stadiums I have ever seen.
Allegiant Stadium Opening Soon
As of now Allegiant Stadium is set to open on August 22, 2020 for a Garth Brooks concert. While many feel this will be delayed, it is still on the books as of today. Garth Brooks aside, it will be home to both the Las Vegas Raiders and the UNLV Rebels plus a ton of events including the 2021 Pro Bowl. I can’t wait!
Since Allegiant Stadium is now only about a month away from being completed, I headed down there to walk around to give you an idea of what it looks like. I admittedly wasn’t the biggest fan of the Raiders coming to Vegas, but I have to admit this is one sexy stadium. It adds to the Vegas skyline and I can’t wait for my first visit.

Allegiant Stadium Construction Tour – Bottom Line
Allegiant Stadium is a great addition to the Las Vegas skyline and it hopefully will be a part of the community for a long time. When are you going to make your first visit? Are you excited that NFL football is coming to Sin City?

How can the Garth Brooks concert still be on? How can 65000 people be socially distanced
I don’t know what they are planning, but something will have to change. The last confirmation the concert was still on came just a couple of days ago. https://vegasinc.lasvegassun.com/business/tourism/2020/jul/17/garth-brooks-concert-for-allegiant-stadium-in-vega/
It opens just in time to welcome no fans because of covid 🙁
Yeah that part is sad, but I’m sure it has many good years ahead of it.
