Check Out Amazon’s New and Improved Kindle
Amazon has unveiled a new 6-inch Kindle, describing it in a press release as its “lightest and most compact” e-reader to date.
The new device is the the latest addition to Amazon Kindle lineup and it resembles the $139.99 Paperwhite model.
The biggest change is the display, which is much sharper than the earlier $89 Kindle that launched three years ago. It features a 300ppi high-resolution for “laser-quality text and graphics” and double the storage, 16 GB (up from 8 GB), which should be sufficient for most people. The new Kindle also has a backlight, but it doesn’t have some of the more advanced backlight features in the Kindle Paperwhite, and is not water-resistant.
Further upgrades include a battery life of up to six weeks per charge and the adjustable front light has made its return.
The new Kindle costs $99.99, only a $10 bump from the previous generation. You can already pre-order it here, and it will be released on October 12, 2022.
