Amazon Mistake Gift Card PSA: Cancel Your Orders – Shipping At $15

We covered a deal earlier where $20 Amazon gift cards were pricing out at $15. We thought it was worth the risk to buy and suggested only to buy what you needed anyway. Well, we have gotten some reports of people getting theirs delivered this afternoon and the Amazon gift cards are for $15 and not $20 like it was showing on Amazon’s site. You have a few options here:

  • You can cancel your orders if you don’t want to deal with $15 codes
    • There is a potential risk this upsets Amazon with a lot of cancellations.
      • That will depend if you ordered one at a time or 30 per etc. I guess.
  • You can accept the orders as normal if you would use the money fairly quickly anyway.
  • You can accept the orders and try to get some type of courtesy credit from Amazon via chat for the mix up. They may throw you a bone there.

I was really hopeful this one would work out. I decided to cancel my larger chunk orders and let some of the smaller / individual orders go through.

  1. This worked for me, I order one on Buy it now (got $20) – order another via the long version (paying in cart etc). and got $15. Then I got an email from Amazon and they gave me $5 as the order was a ‘mistake”. So gambled and made $10 on $30 spend. Thanks.

  3. I used my Chase Amazon card so I would get 5% back either way. Just bought one of each color so no harm/no foul.
