Get Portal Cashback When Shopping at Amazon
A vast majority of the people I know have Amazon Prime and love to shop through the online retailer. Unfortunately Amazon has decided for the most part not to participate in the online portal game. This leaves those of us who love to maximize everything out in the cold.
Since it generally isn’t possible to earn portal cashback on Amazon purchases, many bloggers (myself included) have affiliate links that are useful to use when you want to support a site. While the support is appreciated, I wanted to make sure to tell everyone that you CAN earn cashback when shopping in certain categories.
What Categories Earn Cashback & Which Portals
Recently I received an email from Upromise touting their partnership with Amazon to pay cashback in select categories. In their advertisement I discovered that Upromise pays 3% cashback in the following categories: Clothing, Jeweler & Watches, Luxury Beauty, Toys & Games, Electronic Personal Care & Amazon Local.
Sounds good right? NO. Don’t do it. You can do better at either Top Cashback or BeFrugal. They both offer the following cashback rates in select categories:
- Clothing – 6%
- Jewelry & Watches – 8.5%
- Luxury Beauty – 6%
- Toys & Games (Not video games) – 6%
- Electronic Personal Care – 6%
- Amazon Local – 6%
Unfortunately purchases outside of those categories don’t earn cashback, so it might be nice to consider using your favorite blogger’s affiliate link.
Conclusion
While I still wish that Amazon would pay cash back across the board, it is nice to see some categories pay a pretty decent return. Clothing & Toys are two big categories that I think a lot of people probably spend a lot of money in.
Before making your next purchase at Amazon don’t forget to check the latest cashback amounts and categories at your favorite portals. Happy saving!

Why not add it amazon gift cards from office supply store with Ink/Simp Cash and get an additional 5%?
You can definitely do that. This post is simply addressing the use of portals. Portals work whether you use gift cards or a credit card to pay.
I personally buy Amazon gift cards at Staples with my Ink and load them to my Amazon account just like you say. I can then use a portal to get additional cashback in those categories mentioned above.
