American Airlines Adding New Routes and More Flights to Latin America

American Airlines is adding new routes and more flights to popular destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America this winter.

Starting later this year, American will launch service from Chicago (ORD) to Mexico City (MEX) and Queretaro (QRO) in Mexico. The airline will also begin service from Philadelphia (PHL) to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ).

It will also add more flights to popular destinations including Dominica (DOM); St. Maarten (SXM); Tortola, British Virgin Islands (EIS); and more.

Tickets for the new service are available for sale as of today, July 14, at aa.com or on American’s mobile app.

New Service

  • Chicago (ORD)/Mexico City (MEX): Daily service from Oct. 26
  • Chicago (ORD)/Queretaro, Mexico (QRO): Daily holiday service from Dec. 18 to Jan. 5
  • Philadelphia (PHL)/Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ): New daily service from Dec. 18

  • Philadelphia (PHL)/San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU): Increase to three daily flights
  • Philadelphia (PHL)/St. Maarten (SXM): Increase from one weekly to one daily flight
  • Miami (MIA)/Dominica (DOM): Increase to two daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/Kingston, Jamaica (KIN): Increase to four daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/Marsh Harbour, Bahamas (MHH): Increase to three daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/North Eleuthera, Bahamas (ELH): Increase to three daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/Ocho Rios, Jamaica (OCJ): Increase to two daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU): Increase to seven daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/Santiago, Dominican Republic (STI): Increase to three daily flights
  • Miami (MIA)/Tortola, British Virgin Islands (EIS): Increase to five daily flights
