American Airlines Launches First Flight from DFW to Auckland, New Zealand
American Airlines is launching a new international flight out of its home base at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Customers at DFW now have an exciting destination to explore with the launch of the non-stop service on American Airlines to Auckland, New Zealand.
American Airlines will operate this seasonal flight daily on a Boeing 787-900 aircraft. Service to Auckland began Saturday, Oct. 29, and it is DFW’s second destination in Oceania.
“The reintroduction of this service to Auckland is the next big step in bringing the Asia Pacific travelers back to North America with a seamless travel experience,” Thomas Rajan, American Airlines’ vice president of global sales, told the Star-Telegram. “These travelers have always been an important and loyal group, representing a significant percentage of the visitors who come to North America.”
The DFW to Auckland flight is one of only a handful of U.S. flights to New Zealand, and it is the only U.S. flight to New Zealand for the oneworld alliance. This route connects customers to the country’s largest city in the North Island.
This new service connects New Zealand customers to over 200 destinations and builds on the strength of oneworld’s alliance. It also makes DFW the second most connected airport in the world.
