American Airlines Has Extended Systemwide Upgrades till July 2022
American Airlines has good news for customers who are not ready to travel just yet, or are not able to do so mainly when it comes to international travel. The airline is extending systemwide upgrades that were originally set to expire this year. The upgrades are now valid for bookings through July 31, 2022.
American Airlines hasn’t made an official announcement yet, but the new expiration dates should already show up in your accounts. You can find them in the “Wallet” section.
Systemwide upgrades are a benefit that AAdvantage elite members earn when they reach either Platinum Pro or Executive Platinum status. You can enjoy a confirmed upgrade from most Business fares to First and most Economy or Premium Economy fares to the next class of service (Business or domestic First) anywhere American flies. Systemwide upgrades can be used for one-way travel for up to three segments on American and American Eagle marketed and operated flights only.
Systemwide upgrades can be used for travel beyond the expiration date of July 31, 2022. The upgrade just needs to be confirmed before the upgrade expires. You can find more details about systemwide upgrades here.
Conclusion
This is good news for American Airlines elites. The airline is extending the expiration date of systemwide upgrades once again. These upgrades are now valid for bookings till July 31, 2022.
