American Express Shutting Down LoungeBuddy.com, Green Card Loses $100 Credit

American Express Shutting Down LoungeBuddy

American Express is shutting down LoungeBuddy. The news comes just a few months after the iOS app was shut down, and five years after buying the service.

American Express has confirmed that beginning January 30, 2025, it will retire LoungeBuddy.com.

As a result of LoungeBuddy shutting down, the American Express Green Card will be losing the $100 LoungeBuddy credit. This is already noted on the terms of the card which state that “effective January 13, 2025, the $100 Loungebuddy Credit benefit will no longer be available.”

Until that date, cardholders can continue to purchase lounge access through LoungeBuddy and receive up to $100 in statement credits per calendar year.
