Amex Offer for supermarkets

Save Up to $20 on Grocery Purchases with New Amex Offer

American Express has a new offer for savings at supermarkets. This offer is highly targeted and can be used up to four times, with a discount of $5 each shopping trip. Let’s look at the details.

The Offer

Get $5 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $50 in one or more eligible transactions. Valid in-store or online at a US-based Supermarket until 8/5/2022. Limit of $20 in statement credits.

Key Terms

  • Offer valid for in-store and online eligible purchases at U.S. Supermarkets.
  • An “eligible purchase” means a purchase made with your enrolled Card at a U.S. supermarket location by 8/5/2022.
  • “Supermarket” means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products.
  • Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases.
  • Specialty Food Stores, Superstores, and Warehouse Clubs are not considered Supermarket stores.

Conclusion

This offer seems to be highly targeted. I didn’t find it in any of my American Express credit cards, but hopefully you have better luck.

You should check cards that ern the best rate a supermarkets first. That would be Blue Cash Preferred (6% cash back), personal Gold (4x points), and old Blue Cash (5% cash back) cards.
