Amex Offers Roundup
A few new Amex Offers have surfaced today. Let’s take a look!
Exxon Mobil $10 off $30+
The Offer: Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $30 or more when you pay at the pump at any Exxon- or Mobil-branded locations by 12/31/2015.
Key Terms: Valid only for at the pump transactions at any Exxon- or Mobil-branded locations using your enrolled Card or a Speedpass(TM) linked to your enrolled Card.
The Heartbreak: This offer is targeted. It appeared on four of my accounts and two of my wife’s.
Analysis: I really don’t care too much about it being targeted, since it really only covers purchases at the pump. While maybe that isn’t enforced, I probably won’t find out. I’ll just start buying my gas at 33% off in $30 increments. While those with access to a crazy amount of fuel points will laugh at a 33% discount, for most this is fantastic.
Home Depot $60 off $400+
The Offer: Get a one-time $60 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $400 or more in-store at The Home Depot or online at homedepot.com by 12/31/2015.
Key Terms: Valid in-store and online. Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories. Valid only on US website. Not valid for e-gift card purchases. Excludes physical gift cards purchased online.
The Heartbreak: This one seems to be HIGHLY targeted. I found out about it on Slickdeals and most people are striking out like me.
Analysis: Home Depot sells so many gift cards. So so many including some Serve/Bluebird friendly ones. If your local store stocks $200 cards then this could be a ~48ish dollar money maker. Of course, you probably don’t have this offer, but I hope you do!
Sports Authority $10 off $50+
The Offer: Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your connected Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more transactions in-store at Sports Authority or online at sportsauthority.com by 12/31/15.
Key Terms: Valid in-store and online. Excludes physical gift cards purchased online. Excludes customizable e-cards. Full terms here.
The Heartbreak: None! This one can be loaded on the American Express website or via Twitter by tweeting #AmexSA! Yay. Finally one that can be loaded to all cards. This one is of course not as good as the others.
Analysis: You can pretty routinely purchase Sports Authority gift cards at a discount fairly close to 80%, but this is still a decent discount. The gift card reselling angle doesn’t really work for a profit with these though. I would only use it for personal use.
Conclusion
There are a ton of other Amex Offers popping up that may or may not be targeted. If you want to look at every single offer that surfaced today, then Travel with Grant has the rundown. I also highly suggest taking a look through your accounts to see what shows up. You might be surprised and you might be heartbroken. Either way, this season brings a lot of fantastic offers and a lot of opportunities.

Found a spend $5 @ Quick Trip and get $5 credit (2/4/16) when I checked my card.
I saw it, too, Jake – and now it’s gone. Just my luck. 🙁
Got the Exxon Mobil offer on 2 of my 6 AMEX cards. With gas here at $1.78/gal and a 16 gal tank (and that’s to bone dry, usually only 14-15 gallons for a fill-up when guage shows empty), would have to bring a gas can to reach $30.
Hi Shawn,
Fairly certain I saw the $60 off $400 offer early this morning on at least one of our accounts. I just went back and checked all of our accounts and its gone. Am I imagining things? or did they just just take that offer away..
It could have reached a maximum. I have heard of that happening even on targeted offers.
