Amex Offers Lowe’s & More
American Express released a few new Amex Offers this morning including a great deal for Lowe’s that I don’t expect will last long. Let’s take a look.
Lowe’s Amex Offer
The Offer
Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more transactions in-store at Lowe’s or online at lowes.com by 12/31/2016.

- Not valid for e-gift card purchases.
- Excludes corporate gift card purchases.

GNC Amex Offer
The Offer
Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more transactions online at GNC.com by 12/31/2016.
Key Terms
- Valid online only.
- Not valid in-store.
- Includes purchases via merchant mobile app.
- Excludes corporate gift card purchases.
- Not valid for gift cards in bulk purchases.
- Excludes GNC Fitness, GNC Health, and drugstore.com.
A Couple of Other Offers
In addition to the offers above, there are a couple of other targeted offers as well.
- Under Armour – Spend $100 or more, get $20 back
- JoAnn Fabrics – Spend $25 or more, get $5 back
Analysis
The Lowe’s offer is the real blockbuster here since they sell a wide variety of third party merchant gift cards in-store. With this offer you can basically get 20% off those cards. If you are looking for higher denominations ask the cashier to split tender, however be warned that this seems to draw extra scrutiny for some reason.
I found the Lowe’s offer on all of my cards except for Hilton Surpass. The GNC offer was on all of my personal cards, but not on any of my small business cards. Unfortunately I didn’t have the JoAnn Fabrics offer on any cards.
Conclusion
As I mentioned at the top, I don’t expect this Lowe’s Amex Offer to last long, so I would load it to your cards sooner rather than later. I have saved quite a lot of money by purchasing 3rd party gift cards at Lowe’s at 20% off!

Lowe’s: Not on any of our 5 cards, darn. On a happier note, I ordered something inside Best Buy and was able to split the payment between 3 AmEx cards, triggering the spend $250, get $25 back offer. Success!

Lowes offer was on all cards except Hilton. Q with respect to JoAnn’s — my store will only take cash for purchase of GCs and staff say it’s a corporate decision and hard coded (they changed their rule during the last Amex offer in the summer). Anyone have different results, so we can actually use the Amex offer on GCs?
Lowe’s: all except HH NAF. VERY good deal.
