Amtrak Points Now Expire After 24 Months
Amtrak has made unannounced changes to its loyalty program, with new expiration rules. This could affect people who have Amtrak points, but don’t use them often.
The change was apparently made last Wednesday. Amtrak Guest Rewards points will now expire after 24 months of inactivity, instead of the previous 36 months. Members were told anything about the change.
Conclusion
Even though you now have 12 months less till expiration, 24 months is still plenty of time to use up your points. But the worst part of this change is that Amtrak Guest Rewards members were not informed at all.
