Interesting Articles

Here are some interesting articles I found on miles, points, travel and personal finance:

One Year Later: An Update to Our Simplified Wallet Strategy for 2026 – Travel with Grant

I always say I am going to simplify our card lineup, and I need to for sure, but it seems like things (new card bonuses) always get in the way. Hey, at least I am taking baby steps with some of our Hilton Surpass cards. It seems to be working out better for Grant though!

American Airlines Clawing Back 25K AAdvantage Business Bonus – Danny the Deal Guru

This worked out a little better than I expected. American Airlines not shutting people down AND giving them a 5K apology was not on my bingo card. I’ll take our free 10K AA miles and say thank you. They came in handy for my Japan trip booking with my son.

United Launches Another Economy Class Innovation: Economy Plus Seats With Extra Elbow Room – United Airlines

If I am being honest, I kind of love this idea. The best part about domestic first class is the chasm between you and a stranger. This would offer up that same “comfort” without the same level of price tag. Our buddy Kyle Potter makes a great point about how this was a pretty shrewd move by United though. I expect more airlines to follow suit if this is the case.
