Spirit Airlines Will Offer Comfier Seats — For Free – Skift

Interesting news for Spirit that could make people more likely to fly them in the future. To be honest the seats never bothered me much, I do miss having a seat back pocket though. They have worked on their on time stats and greatly improved their system there but they still have a ways to go to improve the customer experience.  Hopefully they fix their broken voucher system soon as well!

HOW TO GET FROM BORYSPIL KYIV AIRPORT TO THE CITY (KYIV AIRPORT TRANSFERS) – Megan Starr

Megan with a very timely post for me.  I said in my recent app-o-rama article that I used some of my newly minted Delta Skymiles for a flight to Kyiv.  I will be book marking this post for sure.

5 REASONS WHY AMERICAN IS THE WORST U.S. AIRLINE – Family Flys Free

Having not flown United much since they have a small footprint in Detroit so I don’t include them in my rankings.  Having said that I run into the most issues with American.  I can’t remember the last time I flew a roundtrip with them without a delay or some other issue.  They have tried hard to ruin my vacations in the past.  And they even mess up when you pay their fees and then call you a liar to your face. They really are the worst in my opinion too.

  1. Definitely use Uber at all times in Ukraine; no sense waiting time or money with anything else given how cheap the country is to a traveling American – highly recommend you go to Lviv if you can get there.

    • That is how I was leaning with those prices! We will only be there for a few days before heading to Prague but I will put Lviv on my list of places I need to make it to in the future. Thanks for the tip Marc!

      • Sure thing – I also just spent 6 weeks in Prague this winter and now consider it my favorite city in the world. LMK if you need any advice there too!

        • I am always game for tips – what are the top 3 things we should do there? Will only be there for 2 days so don’t have a ton of time.

          • I would say certainly see the old part of town and do all that touristy stuff, but try earlier in the morning as it gets crowded since you don’t have much time. That probably occupies the top three things to do – Charles Bridge, Castle, the clock etc.

Definitely get out to some other areas to eat as some restaurants are fabulous and certainly inexpensive – and there certainly is a bit of tourist-rip-off culture remaining. There is a guy who has a YouTube channel called Honest Prague who has some great and helpful videos. Most areas are walkable since it’s such a small city.

Download the “Sejf” iPhone app before you go so you can purchase metro/tram tickets easily and not worry about buying there

Also there is a free funicular behind the NH hotel which offers great views (though was snowing when I was there)

It’s such a friendly and relaxed city that it is truly hard to go wrong!

  2. AA – “They really are the worst in my opinion too.”

Then fly Delta. They are superior operationally, in regards to customer service, as well as their website and app.
