Articles
Terminated by AA – Initial Thoughts on Next Steps – Middle Age Miles
I know everyone probably has AA shutdown fatigue by now. But I think Craig’s post is worth reading. It doesn’t seem like American Airlines made the logical choice here. Craig spent a ton of money with the airline but this is what happens when you paint with a wide brush. It was also interesting to see them finally specify that Citi welcome offers was the cause.
WELL KIDS, YOU CAN EITHER GO TO COLLEGE OR WE CAN GO ON A DISNEY CRUISE NEXT SUMMER – Miles for Family
Everyone knows Disney loves to jack up the price year after year, in all things. But it is surprising to see how the price has almost tripled in under a decade. Disney is pricing people out of the experience.
Chase Sapphire Reserve & Ritz-Carlton Bring Back Return Protection – Doctor of Credit
I am surprised to see Chase actually add back some perks. Although I was kind of surprised to see it taken away in the first place since I doubt it cost them all that much overall.
Another amazing AMEX retention offer – The Miles Man
I have heard of a few different people getting these 50K Membership Rewards offers with no spend required on their Platinum cards lately. I even mentioned it on the podcast when we discussed the airline incidental clawbacks. My wife’s Platinum card’s annual is coming up soon and I hope I can score a similar offer instead of what she got last time around.

Other blogs I follow all are able to do this, I was wondering if you can please try to do this as well as it makes it a lot more readable.

Should give you what you need Lisa
Hi Mark – Many thanks for the link and your thoughts on my AA shutdown situation. The whole saga certainly surprised me!
Also, on an unrelated subject that’s covered in this post – I got the 50k MR/no spend retention offer on my Amex personal Platinum card a couple of months ago. That one was definitely something to celebrate! Fingers crossed for your wife at her renewal time!!! ~Craig
My pleasure Craig and sorry again to hear about your accounts. Hopefully you can get them reactivated or some compensation for it once you take some legal action.
I hope she gets it too but I doubt she will since she got an offer last year 🙁
