A large Amazon balance is an issue, especially from Amazon gift cards, but I think the buying a 3rd party gift card with your Amazon balance is what did this one in in my opinion.  It is better to load a $200 Visa gift card etc. from the fee free Staples deals etc. versus an Amazon gift card.

Venmo Lifts $10,000 Cap On 3% & 2% Categories – Doctor of Credit

It seems like this card could have some interesting plays so it is good to see the cap lifted.
