I know checking out abandoned places is a favorite among many. The Detroit Train Station is a very cool looking building and one that I have long wanted to be restored. I am glad Ford bought it a few years back and is making it useable space again.

I have had to leave early twice. One was a Hilton in Brussels and we left at 5PM, the day before check out, and expected nothing but they proactively offered to refund me.  The other was for March Madness and the Hyatt was unwilling to cancel the final two days after my team lost. So very much your mileage may vary.
