There is ZERO shortage of pilots. Pisses me off that the CEO’s are pushing this garbage. There is a shortage of pilots willing to work trashy regional operations. No highly skilled worker wants to sit on airport reserve for $50,000 per year. That is not fair starting pay for anyone with that many lives in their hands. I assure you United/Spirit/JetBlue/DL/AA have all the pilots they need. Right now they cannot train fast enough and do not have the resources from a support standpoint. It is HILARIOUS watching this pilot shortage thing go around. Spirit actually does not even hire 1/10 applicants. Remember… the media NEVER states the facts and CEO’s blame everything on “non-controllables ” Put those 2 things together and I guess we have a pilot shortage.
