Barclays Spending Bonuses

Barclays Spending Bonuses, Earn Extra Miles With Targeted Offers

Barclaycard usually sends out spending bonuses to some cardholders every few months. These offers vary and are targeted and require you to register first and then complete a certain amount for spending. Let’s take a look at the spending bonuses that are available this time around.

JetBlue Plus Card

  • Spend $2,000 or more each month during May, June & July and earn 1,000 bonus points per month.
  • Complete the spending requirement in each month and get an additional 2,000 bonus points.

Aviator Card

  • Spend $2,000 or more each month during May, June & July and earn 1,000 bonus miles per month.
  • Complete the spending requirement in each month and get an additional 2,000 bonus miles.

Conclusion

These offers are usually aimed at those who have an annual fee coming up, but that’s not always the case. Check your emails to see if you have received any of these offers and let us know if yours is different. These two offers add up to almost an extra miles per dollar spent, and you need to spend a total of $6,000 in three months. Probably not worth it for most people.

  1. I got the Aviator offer on the business card. Not sure if I want to go through the regimented hassle of making sure I spend 2k for 3 consecutive months. We are talking AA miles. Not a high value mile currency if you ask me.

  2. DH had one for March & April that was spend $250 each month and get 1000 bonus miles. So 1500 miles for $500 spend = 3 miles/$1. He did it.
I got a March & April offer of spend $1000 each month and get 2000 bonus miles. So 4000 miles for $2K spend = 2 miles/$1. I passed because spend was too high and I was working on the Hyatt card.

    • Oops- I just found the paperwork – my offer was spend $2k each month (Mar-Apr), get 4K bonus miles. So 8K miles for $4K spend still is 2 miles/$1, but that’s way more spend. It’s like the minimum spend to get an account opening bonus. No wonder I didn’t do it!
