Bed Bath & Beyond Going Out of Business
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Sunday after the home goods retailer failed to secure the funding needed to stay afloat.
According to a press release, the “Company’s 360 Bed Bath & Beyond and 120 buybuy BABY stores and websites will remain open and continue serving customers as the Company begins its efforts to effectuate the closure of its retail locations.”
But if you have Bed Bath & Beyond coupons and gift cards, then you have little time to use them. The company has announced the deadlines to take advantage of coupons and unspent gift cards as store closing sales get underway.
Bed Bath & Beyond addresses the coupon situation in a list of frequently asked questions on its website, posted after the bankruptcy announcement.
“We anticipate that we will stop accepting coupons on April 26, 2023, when we will start our store closing sales, where customers will be able to shop for your favorite products at deep discounts,” the company states.
Bed Bath & Beyond’s 20% off coupons are quite popular, so if you have any then make sure you use them within the next few days. But we might also see some great prices during upcoming sales.
As for gift cards, you will have a bit more time to use them, and take advantage of closing sales. Bed Bath & Beyond expects that gift cards will continue to be accepted through May 8, 2023.
The company said it will start an orderly wind down of its operations, while seeking a buyer for all or some of its businesses. In the bankruptcy filing, the retailer said it anticipates closing all of its stores by June 30.
Bed Bath & Beyond will accept returns and exchanges for items purchased prior to April 26, 2023, in accordance to the usual policies until May 24, 2023. Store closing sales will start on April 26, 2023, and purchases during those closing sales will be final.
