The data set ranges from legality of fireworks to average price of a New Year’s Eve party ticket to forecasted precipitation for New Year’s eve. Times Square is probably the best place that comes to mind for that evening, but not if you want to save, or if you like warmer weather for example. It did top the list though.

In order to determine the best spots for celebrating New Year’s Eve, WalletHub compared the 100 most populated U.S. cities across three key dimensions: 1) Entertainment & Food, 2) Costs and 3) Safety & Accessibility. They evaluated those dimensions using 28 relevant metrics. And here’s the top 20 cities after crunching the numbers:
