Boeing Reports More 737 MAX Order Cancellations
Boeing finally saw some good news recently. It won approval last month from the Federal Aviation Administration and the European authorities also gave it thumbs up earlier. Boeing now just needs to wait for clearance from several regulators worldwide before getting back to business. It also received the largest order since the grounding last year. Another 75 jets for Ryanair.
But now Boeing reported cancellations for its 737 Max jet, which this week is scheduled to carry paying passengers for the first time in 21 months.
Boeing said orders for 88 planes were canceled in November, pushing the total to 536 for the year. The company reported a total of 27 orders for the plane, although 25 were just a new order by Virgin Australia replacing an earlier, larger order for 48 Max jets. The November numbers don’t include Ryanair’s order mentioned above.
Boeing reported that it has delivered seven commercial jets during November, mostly cargo planes to UPS, FedEx, DHL. That brings Boeing’s total deliveries for the year to 118.
The 737 Max jet flew for the first time since the grounding on December 2, as the American Airlines aircraft carried members of the media between Dallas and Tulsa, Oklahoma, Travel Pulse reports.
