Book Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt

Book Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt

Hyatt Hotels revealed last month that it would soon launch a short-term vacation rental platform named Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt. Now the new platform is live, and it is not very exciting for those who aim to maximize the value of their World of Hyatt points.

You can search book participating properties hyatt-homes-and-hideaways.com. These properties are located for now only in six states: California, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Oregon. In the previous announcement, Hawaii was also mentioned as one of the states where properties would be offered at launch, but there are no eligible properties there for now.

You will earn 5 Base Points per $1 spent on these properties for paid stays. But I would assume that most readers are interested in redeeming points for these Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt properties. And that’s where the bad news comes in.

I tried a few properties, and the redemption value seems to be very close to 1.2 cents pr point across the board. A 1 bedroom condo in Seagrove Beach in Florida for example will cost you $1,966.87 or 163,906 World of Hyatt Points for three nights.

That’s a disappointing value for World of Hyatt members who were hoping for great redemption options at Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt properties. You can easily get a value of over 2 cent per points, and even better than that at many Hyatt hotels.
