British Airways Loyalty Program Changes Coming in 2025

British Airways revealed today a new name and comprehensive changes to its loyalty program, which will mean access to its top tiers will be based on spend on airfare and travel packages.

After 43 years, the Executive Club will be rebranded simply as The British Airways Club starting on April 1, 2025.

Starting April 1, 2025, British Airways Club members can expect:

  • A new Tier Point system when flying: Members will earn Tier Points based on the cost of their flight and ancillary spend including seat selection and excess baggage. Members will earn 1 Tier Point for every £1 of eligible spend, which comes with recalculated Tier thresholds to reflect the new model.
    • Bronze: 3,500
    • Silver: 7,500
    • Gold: 20,000
    • Gold Guest List: 65,000 (with at least 52,000 earned through British Airways-marketed flights, qualifying add-ons and British Airways Holidays packages), and 40,000 to retain (with at least 32,000 earned through British Airways-marketed flights, qualifying add-ons and British Airways Holiday packages).
  • Tier Points on a contribution to Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF): Members will also earn Tier Points and collect Avios by purchasing a contribution to SAF, earning up to 1,000 Tier Points per year. Customers will also be able to use their Avios as a form of payment.
  • Limitless Tier Points on British Airways Holidays: Members will earn Tier Points based on the price of the entire package, with no limit in place.

Then later in 2025, members can also expect:

  • Tier Points on credit card spending: BA American Express Premium Plus Cardmembers will earn up to 2,500 Tier Points by spending on their card. More details of this offer will be announced closer to the launch date. This doesn’t apply to U.S. credit cards.
  • New milestone benefits between Tiers: More milestone moments between Tiers, starting with gifts of 2,500, 4,000 and 5,000 Bonus Avios at milestones within Bronze and Silver. More benefits will be announced in the coming months.
