Capital One Adds JetBlue as Transfer Partner

Capital One has once again added the JetBlue TrueBlue program as a transfer partner. JetBlue was first added a Capital One transfer partner in 2019 and then dropped in 2021.

Now just over three years later, they are giving it another go. However, this might not be a popular transfer option for eligible Capital One cardholders.

If you want to transfer Capital One miles to JetBlue, you will get only a 5:3 (or 1:0.6) ratio. This means if Venture, Venture X, Venture X Business, and Spark Miles cardholders transfer 5,000 Capital One miles to JetBlue, they will receive 3,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points.

JetBlue uses a dynamic pricing model, which means that that the amount of points required for a JetBlue flight is loosely tied to the ticket price. That leaves little room for outsized value on redemptions, making it a bad option for redeeming Capital One miles.

You can possibly do a bit better value-wise, when redeeming JetBlue points for first class Mint, or Qatar and TAP Portugal.

Other point currencies have a more favorable transfer ratio for JetBlue. Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi ThankYou points transfer to JetBlue at a 1:1 ratio. American Express Membership Rewards points have a ratio of 250:200.
