5X with Chase Ink
Purchases from CardCash have been earning 5X Ultimate Rewards points if you pay with a Chase Ink Cash, Ink Bold or Ink Plus card through PayPal. That definitely sweetens the deal.
45 Day Guarantee Only!
CardCash only guarantees their cards for 45 days. From time to time cards purchased from CardCash do go bad. They have always done a good job of guaranteeing cards within the 45 day window, however I would not buy a card unless you have an immediate use.
Conclusion
This is a great deal since you’re getting an extra 5X in UR points if you’re using Chase Ink cards through PayPal plus 10% off at Target. That should give you some nice savings if you have any Target purchases upcoming. Remember the cards are only guaranteed for 45 days so only buy if you have an immediate need for them.

There is no such thing as fully sanitizing a gift card – if it turns out the gift card was purchased with a stolen credit card they will cancel it whether you added it to your account or not. Thy will also cancel your target account, and you may even possibly get a visit from the police. That is always the real danger when buying cards on the 3rd market – the danger is not in getting your money back from cardcash, as they will eventually refund you.
I had this a couple of years ago with Virgin Mobile when I bought a top up card on ebay that turned out to be purchased with a stolen credit card. They shut down my phone, I lost all my money saved on the phone (over $100), and ended up losing my phone number too.
The point being there is no way of ever fully sanitizing a 3rd party gift card and there is always risk involved
Good points Jason – thanks for the post!
No reason not to buy as much as you can. You can add them to the app and “sanitize” by buying other giftcards at the register with the cardcash giftcard.
Be careful with that – some, if not all, Target registers have been hard coded against buying a gift card with a gift card.
I did it at self checkout Saturday.
Awesome! Good to know. I just don’t want everyone counting on that.
That’s true.. my backup plan is to buy something and return it, could say I don’t have the gift card anymore and get a new gift card.
What about buying a Target gift card through Target.com using the cardcash gift card to “sanitize” the card. Will that work?
You can not use gift cards for gift cards on target.com anymore – that died about a year ago.
