CDC Moves Barbados, Croatia and Other Destinations to Highest Covid Risk Category
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its travel advisories levels for several countries around the world. This is a continuously changing list with COVID-19 risk assessment for each country. You can also find travel requirements, recommendations, and information by vaccination status for global travel.
This week’s changes see the highest risk “Level 4” list grow again. Armenia, Austria, Barbados, Croatia, Latvia and New Caledonia are all listed as “Very High” COVID-19 risk. Americans are warned that they should “avoid travel” to countries in this category.
The Covid-19 infection rates have improved in some other countries, and they have been downgraded from Level 4 to Level 3. That includes Argentina, France, Iceland, Lesotho, Morocco, Nepal, Portugal and South Africa. The CDC’s recommendation for this category is is to “make sure you are fully vaccinated” before traveling to any of these countries. Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel.
The top risk category, “Level 4: Very high level of COVID-19”, now has more than 80 destinations. It includes many popular vacation spots for Americans such as Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Croatia, Greece, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Maldives, the U.K. and Ireland. You can see the full list here.
It’s worth noting that these recommendations are intended to inform Americans about the risk of travel, but they are not official restrictions. You can still choose to travel to a “Level 4” country. The only obstacle could be that country’s entry rules.

hahahaha
I’ve been to countless ‘level 4’ countries in the last 2 years.
God, probably two dozen or more.
It’s a complete joke of a system. Nothing interesting or different in any of them.
From Uganda to Peru, Honduras to South Africa. *shrug*
Who possibly believes the government anymore?
