Chase Freedom 2nd Quarter 5% Categories
Chase Freedom revealed the rotating categories for the second quarter of 2025. These are categories where you can earn 5% cash back, and if maximized can bring in $300 annually. Let’s see how these bonus categories work.
How It Works
Starting April 1 through June 30, 2025, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardmembers can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases on the following categories:
- Amazon: The Amazon category includes purchases made at Amazon.com (including digital downloads, Amazon.com Gift Cards, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Prime subscriptions, and items sold by third-party merchants through Amazon.com’s marketplace) and Whole Foods Market (including physical Whole Foods Market)
- Select Streaming Services: Only subscription services paid for with the listed select merchants will qualify for this offer:
- Disney+
- Hulu
- ESPN+
- Netflix
- Sling
- Vudu
- Fubo TV
- Apple Music
- SiriusXM
- Pandora
- Spotify
- YouTube TV
- HBO Max
- Paramount+
- Peacock
- Showtime
You can activate the new categories here, starting now. Must activate by June 14, 2025.
Other Benefits
In addition to the rotating quarterly categories and new cardmember offers, Freedom Flex cardmembers also earn 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase’s Ultimate Rewards, 3% cash back on dining and drugstores, and 1% cash back on all other purchases. Freedom Flex cardmembers also receive World Elite Mastercard Benefits, including cell phone protection and discounts with Lyft, Boxed, Shoprunner, and more.
Conclusion
Chase Freedom’s 2nd quarter bonus categories can be useful, especially Amazon, if you don’t already have a card that earns 5% back on these purchases. Streaming on the other hand is not as exciting, as it’s a hassle to change the payment method on all your streaming services.
Also don’t forget to maximize the current 1st Quarter bonus categories before the end of the month.
