Chase Freedom 3rd Quarter 5% Categories Revealed

Chase Freedom has revealed the upcoming 5% cash back categories for Q3. Whether attending a favorite artist’s live performance, embarking on a road trip with friends or restocking essentials, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardmembers have the opportunity to earn 5% cash back.

Starting July 1, 2025 through September 30, 2025, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardmembers can earn 5% cash back on the following categories, up to a total of $1,500 in spending:

  • Instacart: From picnics to poolside, save on summer must-haves with 5% cash back on grocery and retail purchases through Instacart.
  • Select Live Entertainment: Savor every moment with 5% cash back on ticketed experiences like concerts, festivals, sporting events, museums, and more.
  • Gas Stations and EV Charging: Earn 5% cash back when filling up the tank or powering up an EV for summer road trips.

In addition to these rotating categories, Chase Freedom Flex cardmembers always earn:

  • 5% cash back on travel booked through Chase Travel
  • 3% cash back on dining at restaurants (including takeout and eligible delivery services)
  • 3% cash back on drugstore purchases
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases

To earn 5% cash back on Instacart, Select Live Entertainment and Gas Stations and EV Charging this quarter, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardmembers can already activate their bonus categories now.

This is also a good time to check the spending for Q2 and make sure to earn 5% cash back at Amazon, Select Streaming Services, a Birthday Bonus Category: Internet, Cable, and Phone Services.
